Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Parents,

Welcome to Yale Model United Nations Korea! My name is Wyatt Huang, and I am serving as your Secretary-General for YMUN Korea XII. I am so excited to welcome you back for another year of in-person conference and am pleased to announce that the conference will be held from November 29 to December 1, 2024, in South Korea.

Heading into the eleventh iteration of our conference, the Secretariat strives to bring unique and innovative committee topics to our delegates. In committee sessions, delegates will either reimagine critical moments in history or debate potential turning points of the future. By inviting delegates to act at the juncture, we hope to empower them to carry their advocacy beyond the scope of our conference to enact change as world citizens. At YMUN Korea XII, the Secretariat seeks to cultivate a sense of mutual understanding and respect among delegates, in order to craft an educational and social experience where delegates can form friendships and engage in collaborative problem solving through trust and diplomacy.

The Secretariat aspires to make YMUN Korea XII the best iteration of the conference to date. With ten diverse committees catering to multiple areas of interests and levels of experience, we aim to create an enriching environment where all delegates, regardless of their background in MUN, will engage in highly intellectual and stimulating debates. We are also excited to offer student-led workshops, panels with partner organizations, and a delegate dance to provide delegates with a holistic conference experience.

The Secretariat aims to make YMUN Korea XII accessible to delegates from all backgrounds. We will be expanding our financial aid program in light of the pandemic's effects on many. We will also be coordinating easy access to committee and conference resources through our online topic guides that will walk beginner, intermediate, and even advanced delegates through various parts of Model UN. We wish to connect with you, the YMUN Korea community, as much as possible via drop-in hours and pre-conference programming.

We are incredibly honored to continue the history of Yale Model United Nations Korea, and we look forward to welcoming you all to this year’s conference in November.

Best Wishes,

Wyatt Huang

Secretary-General

Yale Model United Nations Korea XII
